Since 1960 when Bollé launched its first ski goggles, the brand continues its long tradition of supporting Excellence.
Excellence is certainly the right word, demonstrated again and again by the superb performances of some of the best skiers in the world, who all have Bollé in common.
Today, in an unprecedented winter season, this Excellence is once again demonstrated by Alexis Pinturault. With a resounding victory last week at the FIS Skiing World Cup in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, Pinturault won the Crystal Globe overall for the very first time, also winning the Giant Slalom Globe. It was quite the birthday present for the World Cup champion whose 30th birthday was on the same day!
Exceptionally versatile, Alex Pinturault competes in Giant Slalom, Slalom and Super G. He is the most successful French skier in the history of the World Cup with 34 victories and today becomes the first French to win the Globe since Luc Alphand in 1997. Interestingly, Alphand was also an ambassador for Bollé ‘skiing!
To celebrate his success story, Bollé created “VISION”, an exclusive documentary that takes fans behind the scenes of his incredible accomplishment. An absolute must for all sports fans, the full VISION documentary is available to watch now on YouTube.
Speaking of her victory, Alexis said:
“It was a very exciting end to the season, with a classification situation still very open, anything could have happened. Winning the last giant slalom race means I also won the Globe of Discipline and the overall standings. It was a fantastic day and my birthday too.
“I want to thank my team and my partners who support me in a wonderful way – to Bollé for their great commitment, their products and their service. It was a pleasure to wear and work with Bollé, a French brand rich in history that is constantly innovating. They have been with me every step of the way to reach the World Cup overall and have been with me all these years. “
Naturally, Bollé made it clear how proud they are to have Alexis in their family and their close relationship has led Alexis to work with the brand on a regular basis.
Indeed, the creation of the Signature Series Nevada mask is a perfect example of the work of the Bollé team with Alexis. Released in fall 2019 and featuring Bollé Phantom’s most technical photochromic lens, it continues to be one of the brand’s bestsellers. Alexis competed for three full seasons with the Nevada mask associated with the Medalist Carbon Pro helmet (Mips) and for the slalom the Mute helmet (Mips).
“Alexis is a perfectionist, every detail matters to him, like every hundredth of a second when he runs. Absolute focus is essential for Alexis, he constantly pushes his speed and limits while combining essential control and balance and at every stage of the race his vision is absolutely paramount. It is truly inspiring to work with such a champion and Alexis allows us to continually improve our products and services. His feedback and comments are of great help to our team, ”said Louis Cisti, Vice-President Marketing of Bollé Brands.
Alexis demonstrates that Bollé products offer more than a promise: they can be truly trusted to perform at the highest level and under the most difficult conditions. To experience ‘see like a champion’, Bollé created a first winter ‘try and try’ augmented reality experience on Instagram, which not only allows users to try on the Nevada mask, but also to try out Phantom. himself.
