Beaver Creek opens 250 acres of new land

Work is underway in McCoy Park to complete a 250-acre expansion at Beaver Creek that will add new grounds, lifts, and new trails for skiers and snowboarders.

BEAVER CREEK, Colo .– At McCoy Park, Beaver Creek Communications Manager Rachel Levitsky said teams have been working all summer to add 250 acres of land to the ski area in time for the next ski season, ” it’ll be ready for the season, “Levitsky said.” We’ve got a fast-track schedule, we started July 1, it’s been really squeezed. ”

The Beaver Creek McCoy Park expansion will add 250 acres as well as 17 new trails, two new quadruple chairlifts and a new heated lodge.

The terrain is intended for beginner and intermediate skiers and boarders offering a back-bowl experience, but in packed snow conditions, “we will have two new lifts, a detachable quad and a fixed-grip quad,” said Levitsky. “and then 17 tracks, 14 beginners and 3 intermediates.”

The new extension of McCoy Park is expected to open in December as soon as sufficient natural snow falls in this part of the ski area.
