How to get the best Walmart Black Friday 2021 deals

NerdWallet is here to help you win Black Friday, while leaving your budget untouched. We spend the time, you save money. Visit regularly for holiday shopping tips and announcements on your favorite retailers. Black Friday is November 26.

Last year, the pandemic sparked the first Black Friday sales by major retailers in an attempt to control crowds and rally sales. Following the success of these efforts, and perhaps with supply chain concerns in mind, the once time-limited vacation sale is once again stretching across the calendar.

Walmart is hosting three sales events with its second “Black Friday Deals for Days”.

Here is what we found out.

What are the opening hours for Walmart’s Black Friday 2021 stores?

Store hours may vary by Walmart location, but the retailer has announced that it will be closed again on Thanksgiving Day 2021. Stores will be open during regular hours on Wednesday, November 24.

Black Friday times have not yet been announced.

Nerdy tip: Regardless of when your local store opens, if you’re a paid Walmart + member, you’ll get early access to Black Friday events in November. In fact, you’ll get a four hour quick start for non-member buyers.

What are Walmart’s Black Friday 2021 offers?

Here are the details of the three savings events:

  1. Event 1 “Deals for Days” begins online November 3 at 7 p.m. ET and arrives in stores at 5 a.m. local time on November 5.
  2. Event 2 is live on November 10, starting at 7 p.m. ET, and in-store at 5 a.m. local time on November 12.
  3. Details for Event 3 will be announced later – but the retailer noted that some discounts are available now on and consumers can expect to see “Rollback” savings in stores.

Offers starting November 3 include:

  • A 14-inch HP X360 Chromebook with 4GB of RAM for $ 179 ($ 120 in savings).
  • A selection of games and puzzles at $ 10 each.
  • Ryan’s World Galaxy 1 Explorer 12 figure rocket playset for $ 15 (savings of $ 14.97).
  • Hoover WindTunnel XL Pet Bagless Upright Vacuum for $ 59 (savings of $ 40).

Offers that fall November 10 include:

  • A Shark EZ robot vacuum with a self-draining base for $ 288 (savings of $ 211).
  • Gourmia French door air fryer and digital toaster combo for $ 49 (savings of $ 40).
  • A 720p RCA home theater projector for $ 89 (savings of $ 50).
  • A 10.4-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 32GB tablet for $ 139 ($ 80 in savings).
  • A 60-inch Samsung 4K Smart TV with HDR for $ 548 (savings of $ 301).

How to save money at Walmart

Every sales event starts online and continues in stores, so you can stay ahead of the savings by keeping an eye out for your favorite items online. And as we mentioned above, having a paid Walmart + subscription saves you four hours. Note that this must be a paid subscription, not a free trial.

However, signing up to access Walmart + benefits will cost you $ 98 per year or $ 12.95 per month. If you decide to sign up, this is another subscription you’ll want to add to your budget. The subscription can be canceled at any time.

To help you plan, Walmart says it will have deals on toys and electronics from November 3 – and on clothing, housewares and durable goods from November 10.

If you’re looking to relieve some of the stress of holiday shopping, Walmart offers curbside pickup. While having delivery right to your door is the ultimate convenience, getting that gift in your hands and stashing it in your hidden gift stash might be the best broken supply chain solution.

What were Walmart’s Black Friday 2020 offers?

As much as we’d like to forget about last year, you might remember how Black Friday sales exploded into month-long events. And many of Walmart’s best deals were online as retailers avoided crowded aisles with shoppers.

The deals we noted in 2020 included:

  • A selection of bikes for boys and girls for $ 29.
  • A 70-inch 4K-class Vizio UHD SmartCast TV for $ 478 (online only).
  • A Mainstays 8 Piece Comforter and Quilt Set for $ 35.
  • T-fal 22-piece cookware set for $ 49.
