When do Utah ski resorts open for the season?


SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – While technically many of us are still celebrating a spooky season – Halloween is less than two weeks away – some Utahns are gearing up for a different season.

Throughout Utah, the snowflakes started to fall. Snow in the Salt Lake City area was even visible from space, thanks to this view from the International space station. Snow falling in Utah can only mean one thing – it’s almost ski season.

Utah, known to have the biggest snow on earth, has 14 ski resorts. Here is an overview of the planned opening dates for each station for the 2021-22 season, courtesy of Skiing in Utah.

Alta ski area: November 20

Beaver Mountain: to be determined

Brian Head Hotel: November 19

Brighton Resort: to be determined

Cherry Peak Resort: to be determined

Deer Valley Resort: December 4

Eagle Point Resort: December 17

Nordic Valley: to be determined

Park City Mountain: November 19

Powder mountain: to be determined

Snowbasin station: November 24

Snow bird: 1st December

Solitude Mountain Resort: November 19

Sundance Hill Station: December 10

Woodward park city: November 19
