Black Crows, in collaboration with Reel Water Productions, has just released the official trailer for The Fortress Ghosts in preparation for the world premiere and feature debut of Black Crows at the Banff Film Festival on November 6, 2021. This second installment of Black Crows the series “The Ghost Resorts” doesn’t disappoint.

Directed by Bryan Smith and Cameron Sylvester, The Fortress Ghosts highlights the once bustling Fortress Mountain Resort which closed in 2004. Two decades later, the chair on the other side, the front chair and the day lodge remain. standing and while the guests are gone, the legendary resort still remains.

The film follows Black Crows athletes Mark Abma and Callum Pettie as they explore the past and reflect on the future of this once iconic Alberta destination that closed in April 2004.

Director’s statement: “When a resort closes for good, it doesn’t take long for the elements to set in. Most “ghost stations” older than a few years have deteriorated beyond repair. Much of Fortress Mountain’s original infrastructure is gone. As such, the stories and memories created there are what remains. Everyone who has spent time at Fortress has a unique story to tell. Learning to ski, meeting a life partner or attending legendary staff parties are just some of the fleeting memories that may be forgotten forever. Making this film has been a privilege, not only to document the texture of this wild environment, but to hear some of the incredible stories made on this mountain. The purpose of this film is to celebrate and preserve those memories, while also sharing some of the beautiful terrain that remains the same as the day the resort opened in 1967. ”- Bryan Smith and Cameron Sylvester.

The full feature film will be available worldwide on January 11, 2022 on all Black Crows channels.
