Today we are at Boyne Mountain Resort for a very exciting event.
Artist Tom Petrie, better known as Tommy Tropic, broke three Guinness World Records for “skuggling”. And if you’re not familiar with it, skuggling is the combination of skiing or skating while juggling.
His three world records are:
- Farthest distance traveled on roller skates while juggling three objects – 5,000 meters
- Farthest distance traveled by juggling three objects – one mile
- The farthest distance skied passing six objects between two jugglers – 400 meters, with national powerlifting champion Lillii Armstrong from eastern Jordan.
And with all this fun, there is a deeper meaning. Tommy Tropic raised over $ 1,000 for a Ugandan circus arts school, Act Katwe, in Katwe’s largest slum. The school nurtures, mentors and strengthens the self-esteem of its students, who are born with very few opportunities. To donate to this cause, CLICK HERE.
Tommy is the founder and producer of the “Juggler’s World Cup”, the world’s first and only “skuggling” race. The event has taken place 7 times, and at 4 different Michigan ski resorts, attracting the world’s best jugglers from as far away as France, Russia, New York and California. And he is also founder and producer of the “Boyne City PirateFest” and the “Great Lakes Busker Festival” in Mackinaw City.
His future plans include breaking the two Guinness Ski World Records in March 2022.
Congratulations and good luck Tommy!
There is also a convention taking place this weekend at the resort. Tommy Tropic is one of the artists that you can find here, among whom there will be speakers, educational workshops, hospitality networks, snacks and lunches, and much more! To purchase your ticket, CLICK HERE.
