Canada’s Britt Phelan returns to the ski cross podium in France with silver in the grand final

Britt Phelan is 2 for 2 for the podiums in the ski cross World Cup youth season.

The Canadian freestyle skier clinched a silver medal in the grand final in Val Thorens, France on Saturday, two weeks after winning the minor final at the season opener in Secret Garden, China.

Phelan, 30, is back on the tour after a lengthy recovery after sustaining a season-ending knee injury in February 2020 in Megeve, France.

Sandra Naeslund of Sweden won Saturday’s competition while Marielle Berger Sabbatel took bronze ahead of the home crowd after several weather-related delays this week.

“It was awesome. Super tough times and a lot of catches or delays on each descent, but I had solid qualifying and had a good plan and I stuck with it all day, ”Phelan told Alpine Canada.
