In Savoie, in a context of Christmas holidays (crossover weekend) and an increase in skiing-related accidents,
a prefectural decree extended since this Friday the measures in force since November 30. They require people aged 11 and over to wear a mask, including outdoors, in places of more than ten people, such as markets, theaters and games, shops, stations, bars, marquees, etc.

Faced with the influx of tourists in the resorts and the deterioration of the health situation, wearing a mask is also compulsory for 11 years old and over from 9 a.m. to midnight in the municipalities of Chambéry, Aix-les-Bains and Albertville and the ski towns. seaside resorts (such as Tignes, Les Arcs or La Plagne).

The decree extended by the prefect of Savoie Pascal Bolot also lays out the ban on consuming alcohol in ski resorts on public roads from 4 p.m., the obligation to sit down to eat and drink in bars. and restaurants in the 38 ski resorts of Savoie.


Do not increase the pressure on hospitals

Tuesday, the incidence rate in Savoie was 759 cases per 100,000, with a positivity rate at 9%, or 15 times the epidemic threshold. A high level of contamination which poses a risk to hospitals, where 82 patients were hospitalized for Covid-19 on December 21, including 21 in intensive care.

At the beginning of December, Pascal Bolot had relaunched the compulsory mask, from 6 years old, at the foot of the ski lifts, in the chairlifts or the cable cars. The health pass remains compulsory to visit these places and, according to the prefecture, more than 10,000 checks have been carried out since the opening of the Savoyard stations.
