Big mountain features – the magnificent backdrop of Mont Blanc towering a staggering 15,777′ – blend seamlessly with charming valley villages crammed with French charm, food and fun.

Due to its convenience and easy access to airlines, the valley is remarkably accessible to explore. Bordering Italy and Switzerland, direct flights can be found via Geneva (GVA) and Lyon St Exupéry (LYS). Upon arrival, there are a host of well-timed shuttles, buses, and trains to help bring travelers in and around the valley.

When the time comes to take it on the trails, a vast expanse of territory awaits beginners and experienced alike. Spread along the north side of the valley, the Chamonix Mont-Blanc valley has several different areas that cater to the specific abilities and styles of all skiers and snowboarders. Almost everything is sunny, south facing and above the tree line. For the 2022/23 season, Ikon Pass holders will enjoy combined access to these five areas of Chamonix Mont-Blanc – Grands Montets, Les Houches, Le Tour/Balme, La Flégère and Le Brévent.

The newest addition to the total of four European Ikon Pass destinations – and now offering up to 28 days of combined mountain adventures – the Chamonix Mont-Blanc valley is packed with peaks with remarkable terrain for all, stunning views and a dynamic mountain culture. There’s a reason this valley has appealed to adventurers for over 100 years.

Joining 5 of Utah’s top ski resorts, Snowbasin has long been recognized as one of the most accessible world-class ski resorts in North America. Located just 45 minutes from Salt Lake International Airport, this globally acclaimed mountain is consistently ranked among the best in accessibility, service, dining, lifts, and grooming categories. Throughout these elevated offerings, families and adventurers can experience a wide variety of beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain. This includes championship-level skiing and riding, 3,000 skiable acres, an average snowfall of over 300 inches, and a vertical of almost 3,000 feet. Consistently recognized as one of the best family resorts in North America, Snowbasin Resort is one of the oldest continuously operating ski resorts in the country.

Local spots
Ride like a local while doing tricks on the land off Strawberry Gondola. It has lots of open spaces and is a local favorite on sunny, snowy days.

Wildflower Grizzly
For iconic trails, look for Grizzly Downhill and Wildflower Downhill. Both tracks hosted alpine skiing events at the Salt Lake Olympics in 2002.

Find the nachos
Gather the crew around the stacked nachos found at Cinnabar, Overlook, and Needles Lodge. Stacked and perfect for sharing, these full, cheesy, melting plates are never a problem to finish.

Find Jean-Paul
Between races, look for John Paul Lodge. Not only is it one of the best selfie spots on the mountain – with views of Mount Ogden and the iconic Snowbasin ridgeline – but it’s also one of the best lunch breaks on the mountain, with a Bavarian dinner with an all day waffle bar.
