The Les Arcs Film Festival will launch a new sidebar showcasing this year’s European entries in the Oscar category for Best International Feature Film at its 14th edition, which runs from December 10-17 in the eponymous ski resort in the French Alps. , Bows.

The dates for the European film-focused festival overlap with the Oscars vote, from December 12-15 before the shortlists are announced on December 21.

The festival will showcase over 60 feature films across the sidebars, including Official Competition, Oscar au Ski, Playtime, Height and Focus Alpes, Season 2.

The eight titles in the Official Competition and in contention for the main Crystal Arrow prize include those of David Wagner Eismayer (Austria), Floor Van Der Meulen’s pink moon (Netherlands), Teona Strugar Mitevska The happiest man in the world (North Macedonia), Pierre Földes’s Blind willow, sleeping woman (France), Fulvio Risuleo ghost night (Italy), Alex Schaad’s deep skin (Germany) Léonor Serraille’s Mother and son and Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel’s Vera (Austria).

Among the other participants, the French director Cédric Klapisch and the Belgian actress Veerle Baetens will give masterclasses and will be celebrated by screenings of their work.

The festival will also hold its annual Industry Village program from December 10-13, including the Co-Production Village, Works in Progress Meeting, Talent Village and Music Village, most of the details of which have yet to be released. advertisement.
